About

A diesel shop on Connor Road.

Power Stroke specialists. Cummins and Duramax. Wheel and tire dealer. A/C work and performance work. That is how the shop describes itself, and it is exactly what comes through the doors.

The shop

Set up for the jobs nobody wants.

Plenty of shops will change a fuel filter. Fewer will pull the cab off a Super Duty, drop an engine onto a stand and put the whole thing back together. That is the work this shop is equipped for — two-post lifts, engine stands, a transmission jack and the floor space to have several vehicles apart at once.

It is not a quick-lube. Trucks come in with symptoms and leave with known faults fixed.

How we work

Test, look, then decide.

A relative compression test runs on the scan tool before the guessing starts. If a cylinder is low, the borescope goes in. Turbos that have shed a compressor wheel, intakes packed with carbon, manifolds rusted through — those are findings, not theories, and the photographs are on this site.

It costs a little time up front. It saves the far more expensive version, which is buying the same part twice.

Parts

Named brands, named reasons.

When a build gets posted, the parts list gets posted with it. River City Diesel short blocks. Kill Devil Diesel aluminum heads. Riffraff Diesel injector cups. AirDog lift pumps. Kryptonite and BD Diesel front ends, because on a Duramax that works for a living the factory front end is the weak point. Hot Shot’s Secret oil on the shelf.

The specification of a job is public before anybody has to phone up and ask for it. That is unusual, and it is worth something.

Who comes here

Owners, and the trucks that pay the bills.

Lifted Super Dutys and Duramax trucks on aftermarket wheels sit next to stake-body parts trucks, wreckers, roadside service units and Sprinter vans. A Jeep and the occasional F-150 turn up too — it is a diesel shop, not a diesel-only shop.

Mechanicsville, Hanover County and the wider Richmond area.

What a customer said

Connor at CBS Diesel is outstanding. I was incredibly impressed not only with the quality of the work but, more importantly, with Connor’s character and integrity. It’s hard to find someone who’s honest, professional, and genuinely cares about their customers, and that’s exactly the experience I had. They’re also very military-friendly, which meant a lot to me and speaks volumes about the kind of business they run. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend CBS Diesel to anyone looking for trustworthy, high-quality service. I’ll definitely be coming back for any future diesel work. Thanks again, Connor!
