Truck chassis with the transmission removed

Service 04

Transmissions & Clutches

Transmissions dropped, clutches and flywheels replaced, driveline put back together properly.

Transmissions out

A transmission jack, a two-post lift and the room to work. Units come out, go back in, and get lined up properly rather than fought into place.

Clutch and flywheel

Manual trucks get clutch and flywheel replacement with the bellhousing area cleaned up and the rear main checked while it is open — which is the only sensible time to look.

Driveline

Driveshafts, transfer cases and the mounts that hold it all still. If something is shaking, it gets found rather than balanced around.
